THAT took a lot of effort.
My web host went down for a day, then another and then I just got itchy and had to move. Of course, having moved, the host came back working again (always the way), but it is good to not have all eggs in a single basket so I am happy that I am now using this additional hoster.
What a process it was to move…
I rolled into the move, an upgrade from WordPress 2.3.1 to 2.6. Add to that that I was unable to access the old site via a text domain name (only via an IP address) and only then for downloading rather than using/viewing, and you have a fun way to burn an afternoon. But I am now cheerfully back up and running, both locally and remotely on 2.6.
Next large task is automated backup.
