This story from the BBC says it all.
Staying up to date is generally a good thing, but in particular if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6, then you will want to be certain that your software is fully patched (up to date with Microsoft’s latest changes).
Many people achieve this by allowing the Microsoft update system to install Internet Explorer version 7 in place of version 6. Then ensuring they keep everything up to date with patches. Being newer, it is generally thought that version 7 is safer than version 6.
Many other people avoid using Microsoft Internet Explorer and use an alternate browser. More information on changing browser can be found over at http://browsehappy.com.
Me? I use a Mac, OS X and other nice software =:-)

I know, I know, IE6 - how old and why would someone be using that from choice… But some do or have to, so at least for those still bolted to IE6 for some reason, there needs to be as much encouragement as possible for them to get patched. Eh?
