I just knew something was wrong, imbalanced with the home page here. And now I know, and it’s fixed.
Each piece of content was fine, but still something wasn’t quite right. And now I have it.
The new content design is laughably simple and common around the Web, but that didn’t stop me missing the obvious. Now, the right hand side of the home page has the freshest writing from Writings and the previous nine Writings are listed bottom right. But what moved me to do this?
I noticed that my Writing on eharmony.ca had been found by someone on a search engine typing ‘eharmony.ca’ and being sent to my home page, where, a few days ago, the intro’ to that Writing was listed. But no longer being the most recent piece, it was no longer visible on the page. The visitor might have found it, but, it was not great HCI design.
Just another good reason for looking at what people do when you’re responsible for designing something.
I hope the person in question finds true love at eharmony.ca (they’d better remember to type the www =;-)
