With care. Thought. Deliberation. Significant gaps between decision made and decision acted on.

Yeah.

That’s how I always do it…not. Well, that’s not quite true now, some lessons have worked their way in. The trouble with being the Cobbler and wanting a new pair of shoes is that you can make them there and then. So you do.

But after you find your shoes hurt your feet and make people giggle, you realise being a Cobbler is not exactly the blessing you thought when you decided to re-shoe yourself.

An entire re-design of our Web presence will never see the light of day. It contained some excellent content. Some excellent graphic design. It had lots going for it, except a deeply seated clearly considered underlying design. Oh it had one, it just wasn’t good enough, it hadn’t been differentiated enough from the herd of me-too’s (it was a me-too).

Not enough care, thought, deliberation. Gaps between decision made and decision acted on were too short or occasionally non–existent.

But, in the end, it was worth the pain to learn the lesson and move up one more rung.
